Burning Regulations

 

Campfires, Cooking Fires ...

Are permitted year round except for periods during an open burning ban. Fires must be clean burning, in non-combustable areas and smaller than one meter squared and one-half a meter high.

 

Garden Fires ...

Are permitted on Agricultural or Estate land properties outside the urban containment boundar with over 2.5 acres, they also do not require a permit and must be smaller than two meters by two meters. Garden Fires are permitted between March 15 - April 15 and October 15 - November 15 of each year.

Land Clearing Fires ...

Are only permitted on Agricultural land for agricultural purposes. They are permitted during two periods: October 15 – November 15 and March 15 – April 15 and require a permit issued at the Town office at 660 Primrose Street, phone number (250) 752-6921.
