Burning Regulations

 

Campfires, Cooking Fires ...

Are permitted year round except for periods during an open burning ban. Fires must be smaller than one meter squared and one-half a meter high.

 

Garden Fires ...

Are permitted on Agricultural or Estate land properties with over 2.5 acres and must be smaller than two meters by two meters. Garden Fires are permitted between February 15 - April 15 and October 15 - December 15 of each year.

Land Clearing Fires ...

Are only permitted on Agricultural land for agricultural purposes. They are permitted during two periods: October 15 – December 15 and February 15 – April 15 and require a permit issued at the Town office at 660 Primrose Street, phone number (250) 752-6921.
